How do I pay for participation in a Wellness
Management & Recovery program? |
Most agencies are providing this program as part of their ongoing services to consumers and it will be billed under Medicaid and Medicare. The WMR CCOE goal is to provide this program to as many consumers as possible and we are working with providers to ensure that this program is accessible to those who wish to participate. Please check with your local provider to see if there is any participant contribution required to attend WMR.

When and where are Wellness Management & Recovery programs held?
The initial audience for the training efforts will be community mental health agencies that seek to provide accessible, recovery-focused, and consumer-driven services based on the best available research on effective treatment.

How can Wellness Management & Recovery help me?
The goal of the Wellness Management and Recovery CCOE is to promote good health and recovery from mental illness by teaching skills that empower consumers to: (1) identify and achieve personal goals; (2) develop informed, collaborative approaches to selecting and managing effective treatment; (3) achieve an overall healthier lifestyle. The Wellness Management and Recovery curriculum includes information on general health and wellness issues, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Who runs the Wellness Management & Recovery program?
The program is coordinated by the Wellness Management & Recovery Coordinating Center of Excellence (WMR CCOE), a statewide entity that seeks to improve clinical quality by accelerating the adoption of best mental health practices in Ohio's mental health system.

WMR CCOE is supported by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and is a partnership among: Southeast, Inc. in Franklin County; the University of Toledo in Lucas County; and the Lorain County Mental Health Board.
Wellness Management and Recovery sessions are team taught with a mental health provider and an peer facilitator. The peer facilitator is a person living with a mental health diagnosis and is on their journey toward recovery. The WMR program supports collaboration between consumer and provider and this is modeled in the sessions. Individuals who have been trained to facilitate WMR sessions are people who believe that recovering from mental illness is a process of transformation and should include hope, holistic care and empowerment. |
